Fanö - unsere absolute Lieblingsinsel

Es gibt nur eins, entweder liebst du die Insel oder du magst sie absolut nicht.

Wir lieben diese Insel und können es immer nicht erwarten, endlich wieder dort zu sein.

Sehnsucht….

Kennst du auch dieses Gefühl endlich angekommen zu sein?

Jedes Mal, wenn wir nach Fanö dürfen, geht es uns so, wir stehen auf der Fähre, fiebern dem Übersetzen mit Sehnsucht entgegen und lassen den ganzen Alltagsstress am Festland.

Dann strahlend den Schlüssel für das Ferienhaus in der Hand haltend geht es erst einmal an den Strand.

Die Weite wirken lassen, die Wellen hören, die Vögel singen und die Möwen kreischen, der Wind zerzaust die Haare, tief durchatmen, die salzige Luft schmecken und die Sonne im Gesicht spüren, wir sind endlich angekommen.

Doch wir wären nicht wir, wenn jetzt nicht noch eine kleine Sache fehlen würde. Denn die Drachen machen dieses Erlebnis erst so richtig perfekt.

Beim internationalen Kite Flyers Meeting auf Fanö freuen wir uns immer wieder darauf viele Drachenflieger zu sehen, die wir nur einmal im Jahr auf Fanö treffen.

Der Fanö Virus, der uns nun schon seit 1994 begleitet, wird uns immer wieder zu allen möglichen Jahreszeiten auf unsere Lieblingsinsel führen.

Yearning….

Do you know this kind of feeling to feel at home?

Each time, we go to Fanö, we feel like that. We are standing on the ferry deck; we leave the daily stress behind and we can hardly await to step on the island.

Just after arrival, we fetch the keys of the holiday cottage and then we go directly to the beach with a big, big smile.

There, we let sink in the wideness of the landscape, listen to the sound of the waves, the song of the birds and the seagulls are screaming. The wind is tousling our hair, we take a deep breath, smell the salty air and feel the sunshine on our faces. At last, we have arrived…perfectly happy.

But it wouldn't be us, if even in this special moment one little piece is still missing until perfection: Flying kites on the wonderful beach.

We are always looking forward to the International Kite Flyers Meeting in June, where we meet most of our kite flyer friends. Many of them we only see once a year here on Fanö.

The Fanö virus, which infected us 1994, will bring us again and again, at all seasons back to our beloved island.
